Merry Christmas

The last day of the term (this year 19th December), the 4 classes of year 3 and 4 usually meet  and spend the last lessons together. We sing Spanish and English carols, we say poems, we dance...
We will go back to school on 8th January. We wish you a Merry Christmas and the best for the New Year.
Class 4A sang the long carol "The twelve days of Christmas" ( you can see a tree with the elements of the song behind us)
Some children danced  "Autumn harvest".
Class 4B sang "Jingle bell Rock" and other Spanish carols.

Before leaving we all sang the  "Feliz Navidad, Merry Christmas" carol by Celine Dion our friends in Sweden told us about.

After school club: percussion.

At school there are lots of different after school clubs, from gardening to chess, from sports to painting. However in class 4B our favourite without a doubt is the percussion group. It is lead by our superb teacher Ronnie who brings his great rythmns all the way from Brazil. We hope you enjoy listening to us play.

We would also like to know what clubs you have at your schools. We look forward to hearing from you.

And here is Paula in the percussion group playing her castanets:

Nice weekend. Bra helg. Buen fin de semana.

Our English classroom library

One of the activities we do in English is to read a small book every week. We have the books in our classroom. We usually take the book on Thursday, we read it at home and we give it back to school the following Tuesday. Sometimes we write or we draw pictures about this book in a little notebook. You can see some examples in these pictures:

Totempoles

Remember the totempoles?
Well, we have just finished them.
Don’t they look great?

Lizzy the lobster, our class mascot

In class 4B our mascot is Lizzy, the lobster. Every Friday a child takes it home and shares the weekend with it. We do lots of activities together such as play games, watch television, read books, visit friends, go to the cinema, etc. Later we write the activities we do with Lizzy during the weekend in a travelling book and we read it in the classroom on Monday. We add a photograph. We like to take Lizzy with us!

Last weekend it was Héctor’s turn:

And the previous week it was Paula's turn:

Special playground

We have lessons at school from 9 to 2 o’clock. In the middle we have a break of 30 minutes, from 12 to 12:30. We usually go to the playground, we eat a sandwich or some fruit and we play with our friends. We like running, playing football or basketball, playing with the skipping rope, marbles or cards or games such as hide and seek, … We love this time!

Unfortunately our playground has not been at its best for some time due to several delays in building a sports hall. It is slowly being improved and to celebrate this we had a “zumba” session today.

Learning with Quadblogging

Once a week we go to the computer room to work with computers in English. Last week we were reading and learning things about Sweden. We read the information, looked at the pictures and watched the videos in Mrs. Ericson’s blog. And we learnt some general information about Sweden too. We wrote something in a worksheet. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to know things about you. We find it very interesting.

Can you find Segovia, our town, in a map of Spain?

Bye. Hejda. Adiós.
